My 400 ran fine. I took it for a drive with the wife for Icecream the other day . When I started it up to leave it had a miss.
Now when I step down on it it bucks and snorts something terrible.
I have chevked my vacume lines and plug wires, they look good.
Any Ideas?

Terry,
Start with the basics,
check; timing, dwell(points),ignition module (HEI), coil, wires, take vacuum reading, fuel filter, fuel pressure, etc
And get back to us, there are a lot of things that can happen

Terry H,
I was thinking about this on the drive home yesterday from work, and I'm thinking it could be distributor-related, or could be fuel-related problem like you're getting fuel and then not, maybe even a filter like mentioned above.
I'm gonna suggest something that is probably the easiest to find out. Could you have gotten some gas with some water in it. I had this happen once and it was pretty much like you said. I'd have power, then nothing, then power, fairly quick, like changing twice a second, choppy-like. Something like dry-gas is pretty cheap to try and can't hurt anyways. Hard to say what the problem is, but I usually start with the easiest to solve.

Ditto on the bad gas, happened once to me. I would put either a couple bottles of Isopropyl alcohol in the tank or if there is room top it off with a high octane fuel from one of the big boys like Amoco or SA as their gas gets pumped a lot and therefore may be fresher. A can of HEET could help get the moisture out as well but I don't know if that stuff is around still.

Hope this helps but as stated earlier something may have moved or broke.

Keep at it ...
