not to beat a dead horse,O.K. 70 chevelle =installed 97 LT1,Lt4 hot cam kit,350 turbo-shift kit,2500 stall,Will in line fuel pump, mounted to side of gas tank keep up the fuel pressure that i need.Or do i need to have the tank modified for pump to go inside.
Try shot at hp,heads, intake ported and polished, will reprogram comp.motor rebuilt at 30 over. How mant cubic in?

I am process of the same conversion in my 67 as we speak. I was told that you can get away with a in line but is noisy and pump life is not good. You also don't have a baffle so a low tank could starve for fuel at take off.
The best way to go is call Rock Valley of similar company to build a custom tank for your application.
I decided to save the money and use a new 67 tank with a section of 94 TA tank welded on top. I am using a modified sender and pump assembly out of a Impalla SS.
I should have am new Frankinstein tank with baffle and internal pump done next week. I will post pics when its all together.
go to this link and at the end you can see a few pics of the process I am doing. Good luck.....

An in-line pump will supply it just fine. The big problem is the starvation because of no baffles.
Another way around the problem is to run 1 low pressure pump feeding a small tank (think apple juice can) which is the high pressure source. http://www.sdsefi.com/techsurge.htm

I run 2 external pump 1 low pressure 1 Hi pressure. Low press pump is a direct feed to the Hi press pump, no reservoir, Pumps are not discerenable when engine is running, both have lasted more than 3 years. Only starvation I get is when tank qty is below 1/4 and under extremely hard accel only.
I tried to run the reservoir like the JTR book explains but my HP pump would starve constantly  I think It was because the HP pump sat a little higher than the res.
