I just looked at my new Lunati solid f.t cam for the first time tonight.The lobes are not a polished finish, they have a dull black finish, not polished like the bearing surfaces. Is this normal for a new cam? I put a new cam in my 350 last year but darned if I can remember

I like to work moly EP lube into the pores of the lobe surface.

PARKERIZING: A thermo-chemical application whereby a non-metallic, oil absorptive coating is applied to the outer surface of the camshaft. This permits rapid break in without scuffing the cam lobes.
