So im thinking about going with a turbo LS combo... thinking about going with a turbo 4.8L and looking at holleys site it is hard to tell exactly what i need to buy. it there one "kit" that has everything to hook up to the stock sensors and stock coils?

Im sure 71 Chevy will find this and chime in as he is running that same setup. Going pretty fast with it too.

Good question. You can always use the factory ECM along with a software package. HPTuners is like 600.00 I believe and you still need to get a wideband/controller (I believe). The Holley is like 1600.00 for the LS motor.

I'd like to learn more on this as well.

I thnought about that but to be honest if im going to do this EFI thing then i want one that can control fuel timing along with boost water injecton and has the programable fail safe stuff and has all the other cool stuff that the holley stuff does.

when i was looking on holleys site i started looking at all the thing and was up itneh 3k range and was like this cant be right...... it is is only 1600 then im more willing to spend that kind of money.

the kit you need is holley hp efi for ls1. I think 66duece has it for like $1420 . it has the o2 sensor but you have to use the water temp sensor, throttle position sensor and knock sensors that came with the engine. you have to source your own intake air sensor, which can be bought online for less than $20 or at a junkyard for $1

they have a kit for the 24x sensor and one for the 58x sensor. same price and I think the difference is how the crank sensor connector is wired

here are the two kits
ls1 -24x sensor

ls2 - 58x sensor

it doesnt have gauges and does not work with analog gauges so you have to spend $100 a piece to get the holley guages, and good luck programming them. I couldnt. I had to copy another user's settings for AFR and now it displays AFR but the led stays red all the time lol

it will work with an existing autometer tach with a simple mod

the self learn is nice it really takes a lot of the work out of the tuning. ie you dont have to spend a whole day on the dyno tuning, which would cost about the same as the holley premium over hp tuners. ie hptuners $600, 02 $100, pcm $100 and wiring $100 total $900, dyno tuning $500

I would highly recommend the holley if it were $300 cheaper. for now, I still keep my eye out for less expensive alternatives but so far I havent found any. maybe the fast xfi with the xim module for ls1?

yep, thats all you need.

oh, also you dont need to use the holley for water injection. sorry holley but it is too expensive.

get you a shure pump, some nozzles and use a relay off the holley to turn it on and off at your preferred boost level. might cost $100
