I love the design of the Dominator version. It has 2 activation wires so you can run one side for the street and/or motor and turn the other on with the nitrous or activate it when you get into boost. Great product. I might have to get one of these to replace my dual Walbros. Looks clean and compact, too!

Thanks Ron. They are pretty nice pieces. I may have to replace my 2 Walbro's too. I just need them to give me a "good cost" on one!

Yep. It's hard to beat these 2 Walbros, but that is nice and compact. I haven't seen any pricing on them yet, but I think they are a nice product for sure. Our guys that watch the competition brought the add for it to me and I said, wow I would like one of those!! :D
Didn't go over well!:noway:

Did you break into the 8's with you car Ron? How much spray?

I'm contemplating putting a turbo on mine, but not sure.

It has to be pretty close. I ran a couple of 5.72's at 121.5 on a very progressed tune due to track conditions. Started at 15% and had to run it out to 2 seconds to make it stick. I was running a 250 shot. I really like the dry nitrous!

I'm going to test this weekend at our good hooking track and try to get more agressive on the launch. It just leaves like a turbo car right now. Doesn't even pick up the wheels. Then I'm going right to the 350 jets.

brngrhd I'm sure most probably think there's a lot of antimosity between the companies, but this is just fun for me. It's like a big chess game. I like going to the races and see how each others products are doing. Shoot I've seen Chad and Monte at the last 2 races I've been in and noone can touch them!

ron you still running two EZ efi units?

wish i would have run that one on my vette..... it did go 5.71 @ 105 running 3.25 gears and 3000 stall. got rid of the vette now have a nova and am going to run an LS based motor and a turbo. trying to figure out if i want a fast system or a holley system they look to be very compairable.

I know there can be alot of antimosity.... I also have known competitors to end up at a track event and help eachother too ;)

5.71 @ 105? did you let off half track?

No, I needed to step up to race with our Mean Street class, so in installed our XFI 2.0. I still use the throttlebodies for air and fuel though. I just needed the additional tunability for the dry nitrous.

Nice,
I've had a good time going to some of the races down south helping some people. Didn't take but a few seconds to realize how much $ and time it takes to run any of the heads up classes these days. It is just unreal. I see some pipe rack guys on web sites bragging about going low 7 in their rails. After working with 3200+ lb cars on small radials going 160 to 170 mph in the 1/8th, it takes a good bit to impress me anymore compared to what most guys are doing in the heads up small tired cars.

Yeah. If it wasn't for some of the rules classes here, I couldn't even do it at all. You know what times guys are running down in Valdosta! No way I can afford that. It's a challenge for me to keep trying to go faster with the same stuff. I did a big cam and valvetrain change over winter that helped a bunch with the nitrous and had the heads ported. Luckily, the cam and valvetrain is very cost effective for me or that wouldn't have happened for awhile. That's the extent of my budget!

oops yeah that is 6.71 @ 105 not to bad for a 10:1 468 with 229 236 hyd roller

That makes more sense. That was a good pump gas combo.

Ron,it is possible to upgrade to XFI with the same basic EZ set up with no other changes? Am I correct is assuming that's what you did?

Picked mine up a little more last night. 5.64 at 126 mph. Still leaving easy. Next week I'm going to see how much it can take off the line and try to get it to 60ft better.

What was the 60? THat MPH is getting up there nicely.

bluzman2004
Jul 17th, 11, 9:12 PM
It was 1.33. I think it should go mid 20's. It leaves very calmly (no tire lifting at all). I'm starting my progression at 20% and ramped it for 1.5 seconds in kind of a slow curve down low. I was pretty happy with the MPH, just need to figure out the ET part. No timing mark on the plugs at all either. I'm a believer in the Monte Smith school of nitrous! It was 78% humidity out, so I probably should have added a couple of degrees of timing.

Doug F.
Jul 17th, 11, 10:08 PM
Yea, that is a real soft curve. It's likely the solenoids aren't opening at 20%, unless you have a 16v battery. Monte knows his stuff. I've never seen his advice not improve anyone pretty much the first pass. I've also learned a lot about power apply from him. One big thing is when the track isn't there, there is only so much you can do on radials. I would think for sure you could go mid 20's on a half decent track. You just keep shortening the ramp and upping the starting % until you have issues. Are you taking the full timing retard out at 20% or is there a ramp so that it doesn't take it all out until the nitrous is at 100%?

The other thing I've seen on some cars lately is a converter change pick things up BIG on the 60' and rest of the track. Still think people are finding some new things there.

I was going to ask how you liked the 4 link setup but it sounds like it is working well :D

Doug that converter thing is always in the back of my head! From what I gather, that's a key factor in this game.

brngrhd, No problems with it for me. Most people can't even tell its there, since it about a bolt in deal. I haven't adjusted it for a year now, it just works.

Hey Doug, I picked it up some more with more progressive on the launch at this last weekends Mean Street race. I went to the semi finals, too!
5.54 @ 128.5 with 1.29 60ft still on the 275/60 MT's. Now it's time to start playing with the timing and see if it likes more or less. Still no mark showing on the plugs.

Wow, that is nice. Somewhat soft 60' still, some room there if the track can take it (which I know most can't this time of year). That is some nice mph. Congrats!
