: Water in the carb?!

Hey all,

a few days ago I received my 3310-3 which I bought over E-bay. I took a look at it and when I moved the secondary flaps there was water bubbling out of the small hole ABOVE the throttle blades of the secondaries (near the boosters). WTF?! Seemed like the diaphragm was pushing water out of the vacuum channel (?). I have checked the fuel bowls and they are bone dry. I also tried to light up the fluid on a knife (didn't want to try that on the carb ) and it did NOT light up. Also it did not smell like fuel.

The seller says it was removed from a 440 Mopar about two months ago. So it wasn't standing very long. He also did not wash it with water and the box was ok when I received it. The carb itself looks ok.

Do you think the water did any harm? Any other advices before I try it out? Anything to check? It's dry now but how the heck did water get in there?

Thanks,
Olli

Olli,I really wouldn't worry about it.I doubt the water bothered anything.Just throw some fresh gaskets in it,bolt it on and go.
