I have had this problem with my -69 307 for as long as I have had it: When driving up a hill, it feels like the engine is starving for fuel. It hesitates, or stumbles just slightly when I give it just a little bit of throttle (like maybe 10%)to maintain the speed.
My first thought was a bad fuel pump, clogged filter or something like that, because that's what the symptoms were like. However, the weird thing is that if I floor it, it will pick up and go without a problem, so I find it hard to believe that it's a fuel delivery problem. I have changed fuel pump, and blown out the fuel line and tank vents with compressed air to make sure that they are free of dirt or other obstructions, inspected for kinks on the fuel line etc. I have also put a rebuilt carburetor on it (2 barrel), together with a new filter, but that didn't help a bit. I have changed plugs, wires, points and distributor cap, set the dwell and timing, but it's still doing the same #¤&?%$£@ thing.
Would appreciate any suggestions, "shots in the dark" are also welcome, as I'm ready to try anything graemlins/angry.gif
