I just saw an ad for this type oil. My F-I-L said that his oil change place recommended it for his 120,000 mi TownCar a while back. He said that he no longer needs to add a quart between changes. What is in it? Rebottled STP  Any recommendations on using/not using it?

I don't know what's in it, but it sounds like a marketing gimmick to me.

If your pressure is a little low and you're using a little oil, you might want to go to the next higher viscosity. Otherwise, I wouldn't think twice about it. Just use what you've been using.

I'm changing oil in my 2000 Chevy Metro 3-banger,. Corn-popper every 10,000 miles or so and am using Walmarts finest Tech2000 and their house filters!!!

BUT I am running almost 100 percent highway miles at the tune of 65+ miles per day, four days a week since I started working four/10's...

If I was doing more city, stop and go driving or country driving to pick up some dust, I would change like I used to at 3,000 or 3,500 miles...

The little Corn-popper just keeps ticking along at just past 102,000 miles. It uses a schosh of oil, like 3/4 of a quart in 10,000...

And if I drive her easy without A/C, say at about 58 to 62 on the flat, she gets from 48 to 50mpg!!
