Have a 71 BB 402, complete rebuilt motor. Installed a Comp cam. I set the valve lash at what they said, half turn. Seemed loose to me? Now mine sound a little loose. How tight are you guys running yours?

What cam are you running? It sounds like you weren't completely on the base of the lobe when you did your adjustment. Do a search for EOIC cam adjustment. You can't go wrong with that one and it isn't messy like a running adjustment.I take it that you have a hydraulic flat tappit? At half a turn past zero lash you should be fine and very quiet. It isna't a roller cam is it?

Does anyone know how many turns, one has to have to ajust the rockers on my 396? It does have a comp-cam with roller rockers, and I believe the lifters are rollers also. Would it be one full turn, from when the rocker starts to clack, when the engine is running?. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Timi 67'elke 396 manual........
