OK, got my 427 home today. I need to know EXACTLY what is the same and what is different from a normal deck and tall deck. What heads, crank, pistons, intake, oil pan, rods etc can I use?

I am sure others know better but pistons are diff. crank, rods ok. heads depends on port and intended use.

Correct me if i am wrong, but can't you use a longer rod and get more cubes out of it with a standard type piston as opposed to the 4 ring truck type like it originally had. Check out a whole rotating assy package they have at www.competitionproducts.com (http://www.competitionproducts.com) They have some interesting stuff.

the pistons are different. the truck pistons are taller. everything else is the same. the deck on the tall deck is .4 inches taller. are you using a tall deck or regular deck 427? i have built a couple of tall decks and they will flat out run. they are very strong. you can bore them .125 over and do alot of stuff with them.
