guys I picked up my 64 convertible tonight and upon inspecting the frame we noticed 2supports on the frame welded in font of the rear wheels. these plates are around 6" long and seem to have another piece welded to the inside of the frame? anyone heard of this? it does not appear factory. the frame does not appear rusted or cracked so I am not sure what this is. Any ideas???

thanks

Mine 64 vert was rusted really bad there I had to add those plates on mine. There might be a picture in my build thread.

John I will have pics tomorrow. stripped the interior today. floor needs attention, an old incorrect restore has to be repaired.

I have a question for you. in the trunk, the floor is rotted on the inside of both wheel wells and there are body mounts exposed, what ever they mount to (frame is fine) on the body is rotted and I dont know where they attach. looks to be attached to the inner wheel wells, any help would be appriciated.

I guess you could call that rotted piece that body mounts are supposed to bolt to a floor support. It goes from one side of the car to the other and isn't welded to the inner wells just the floor and has cage nuts for the mount bolts.

Zombie so the barce is welded to trunk floor? does it attach to the frame or just the trunk floor? I will be replacing the trunk floor so I need all the braces that attach to the floor. Thanks in advance... Sorry for all the questions
