I found this add and was wondering if i could take the disc brakes off of that rear end and make them work on my rear end with out welding.

It might take a bit of machine work , but probably no welding. The Impala/Caprice rear brakes bolt onto the flanges at the ends of the axle tubes. There are no welded on brackets. There could be some other problems , though. The parking brake is a drum brake inside the rotor. Getting a proper fit might be a challenge. And, of course, the rotors have a 5 inch bolt circle, rather than the 4.75 of the Chevelle.

I see, im sure i could research this out but what rear disc brakes off another car would work. I've heard of guys running corvette brakes. I'm just looking for something cheap to replace the rear drums.

i looked this up once- either a '00 or so 2 wheel drive S10 Extreme or '98-'02 LS1 F body rotor is really close to the same, except for the wheel bolt pattern and center hub diameter.
the NAPA website used to have all the different specs for the rotors.

I was told over the weekend that i could find any older caddy's and take the rear disc brakes off those and bolt them right to the 12 bolt in my chev. Any experiance?

What would you do about the mounting bracket/proportioning valve? I'm sure you can make it work with very little fabrication. I just installed the CPP 4 disc kit and from what I can tell, the rears are calipers from a caddy seville and CPP cut mounting brackets and shim.
