I bought a 383 a while back. I'm going through and inspecting it. Everything looks pretty good so far but the main bearings have some pitting. The rod bearings have some scaring. I think this is normal wear and tear kind of stuff so I'm going to replace them. I don't know what size they are or what I need to get for replacements. The markings are as follows...

Rod:
Clevite 11/89
CB 663P
E

Main:
Clevite 9/89
MB 2508P
Lower D1

I tried looking them up on Clevite's website and found the rod bearing. I don't know what size I need though. I was unable to find the main bearing though.

I also pulled this from the end of the crank.

7.33/20

I didn't know they used decimals when labeling these. Can somebody help? Thank you all.

Brandon,
YOur machine shop should be able to id them for you but.... the rod bearings are Clevite CB663P's The mains are out of a MS909P set, you need a catalog to find the individual numbers. However.... you really need to measure the crank, or the bearings, to properly determine the size. Clevite marks the bearings with an ink stamp that usually is not visible after they have been run for a while. Take the bearings to your machine shop and have them check them for you. While you are there, buy the bearings from them smile.gif
