: Joints on 'axle' side?

Doing a frame-off at present and still working on the frame.

At present, I have a Hotchkis TVS setup, but after reading some more, I do not like the rigid rear lower arms having poly on both ends. So I recently ordered the Currie Currectrac billet alum lower arms. But NOW... I am looking at the poly/joint arms by UMI @ http://www.umiperformance.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2_32_37&products_id=375 which look more appealing being steel and all. I notice the joint on the 'axle' side of the arm though... does that really matter? The other arms I have seen so far... the joint is on the frame side (similar to adj. rear upper control arms).

thx

Hi Ken,

Sorry I didn't see this earlier... the search isn't working right now so I am missing some stuff here and there.

We make all our items so the solid joint (Rod end, Roto-Joint ect) is always on the axle side and the softer bushing is on the chassis side. Our theory is placing the softer bushing (In this case polyurethane) on the chassis side it will absorb the road harshness and noise before it enters the vehicle. We have done some experimenting with this in the past and do feel it is accurate. Why some companies place the solid joint on the chassis side I don't know.

If Summit has a long ship date it just means they don't have that item in stock at this time. What they will do is submit the order to us for us to ship it direct to you. Our turn around time on this would be 1-2 days so don't go by their date, it is just computer generated and not accurate :)

If I can help anymore please ask. Thank you!
Ryan
