I'm buying a 505 hp 454 for my '70 chevelle SS. Is a hi-volume fuel pump advisable? Also with an Edelbrock 750 cfm, will I then need to use a fuel pressure regulator? I'd appreciate some help on this! Thanks.

assuming your engine uses 1/2 lb of fuel per hour to sustain 1 hp, 505 X .5 = 252
252 is the amount of fuel in pounds per hour that your engine will need max.
gas weighing about 7 lbs/gallon is divided into the 252 to get the amount in gallons
252/7 = 36 so you will need a maximum of 36 gallons per hour flow rate from your fuel pump.
