I have a 71 Chevelle and going to switch to a electric fuel pump because I am going to put on a NOS system. I have never deal with electric pump before. Do you normally mount by the gas tank and where? I will be running a regulator and should that be mounted by the tank too? Should I run new fuel line or use the stock? Where do you get your power for the pump? If you have any other suggestion send them my way. Thanks JOHN

Back by the tank is right as they "push" better than they "pull". However, because of noise and heat from exhaust tubing, I mounted my last on on the trunk pan inside the trunk. Most people that race would put it on the frame rail near the gas tank.

I mounted mine on the outside part of the trunk pan above the front diff. Depending on what kind of regulator you have, you can mount it on the firewall for better access. You will also need to get a different fuel filter to mount inline before the pump.
It is also advised to run a relay to power your electric pump, which needs a constant hot 12v source, a switched 12v source and a ground.

NHRA, I don't know about IHRA, doesn't allow any fuel system items within 6" of the firewall. Mount the regulator on the inner fender or get one of the nifty holders that Edlebrock (http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/ProductDisplay?prrfnbr=1459&prmenbr=361) (PN 8189) and others sell.

Would anyone suggest running bigger fuel line then the stock tube? I have 3/8 and not sure if I should go larger? Thanks JOHN
