I'm doing a frame-off and am putting my 396 back together and would like some suggestions on priming/painting the brackets (alt, power steering, AC, etc...) and pulleys. Should I use POR15 or just prime and Top Coat with Rustoleum? Should they be flat, semi or gloss?
Thanks.

Krylon #1316.. perfect stuff..low gloss black..doesn't get any more factory looking than that stuff.
Wal Mart has it..
When it dries,it doesn't look like you painted it,it just looks clean.

Low gloss looks best IMO. I use the low gloss black Plasticote engine enamel.
Kind of dirty, but view brackets and pulley http://www.geocities.com/lonnie67_1966/MarkVIII.html

Have them semi gloss black powdercoated. It's the only way to go. I have done everything I can w/ it & am very pleased by the results. Looks very original & you can't beat the durability. JOHN
