Ok, this may be a stupid question but I can't figure it out. I am putting a big block into my 67 chevell, and I am using a short water pump to make it correct. I bought a power steering pump off of ebay with the resevior. I got the pump today and it has places for 3 hoses!! what is this?? There are 2 tubes coming out of the pump, and one place for a fitting for another hose. What goes to which?? I have never seen this before. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Gene

Sounds like it came off of a vehicle that had Hydra-boost power brakes. One pressure line and two return lines (one from the power brakes and one from the p/s box). Came on most diesel trucks, all 1-ton p/u's regardless of engine, Astro vans and many more.

can it still be used?? Just block off one return?
Thanks,

You should be able to just block off the extra return.
KEEP that pump either way - those hydra-boost brakes are a good alternative if you don't have engine vacuum due to your cam and don't want to run an electric pump for boost. Someone will want it if you don't.

well, what is this type of pump worth?? What else is needed to make the hydro-boost brakes work??
