BY BUDDY HAS A IROC CAMARO AND HE WAS WONDERING IF HE CAN BORE OUT HIS 305 SMALL BLOCK TO A 4.00 BORE MAKING IT A 350, CAN HE DO IT? IS IT POSSIBLE?

In a word, NO!!!

I wouldn't bore one much over .030" b/c they generally are thin.

Now on the other hand there are small journal 283's made outta 327 blocks from the factory that can bore .155" over! (3.875" to 4.030").

Imho, if you want a good small bore, long stroke motor, then pick up a dirt cheap 307 block, 3.875"), and drop your guts in it along with some cheap custom cast oversized 305 pistons.. Should run fine but I do have to say that it will cost more then grabbing a good rebuildable 350 motor and fixing it!!

Plus, the 350 is bigger to begin with and can go out to a 383 easy..
