...from Toronto dealers Gorries Chev-Olds & Golden Mile Chev-Olds from 1953 to late 1980s, including new sales, trade-ins, dealer trades, etc, for most GM brands. For example, two 1965 Chevelle L79, 1965 Chevrolet L78, El Camino big blocks, etc, etc. If you suspect your car came from either dealer, provide VIN and I will check it against what I have. If I have docs for you, then provide proof of current ownership and you get them, free. Not every damn thing should come down to a buck. Email only to bigblackdogs@xplornet.com, as I am seldom online. Lance Hill

I imagine there would be quite a few hipo cars out of Gorries as they were right into performance. Lance, would you happen to recognize the two guys in the second picture?

Graham Neale on the right. Also knew guy on left but can't quite place him, is definitely not Doug Duncan.

Wait a minute. Now that I look again that actually could be Doug Duncan on the left. It's just that he looks so young, but we know how that works as memory fades. Unfortunately Doug passed several years ago.

That was a 1966 Canadian magazine so they would be pretty young. Boy, the years sure have slipped away, but who back then would have thought that we would be playing with the same old cars 40+ years later?

Does this sign make me an honorary member of the obscure Canadian GM group?

Cool sign! It was taken down shortly after I shot this photo.

Gorries is long one but from what I gather they sold a significant portion of hipo cars.

I came from the Hamiton area and Mo Carter (A number of LS-6 Chevelles went through them) was the guy for hipo cars around that area of the Golden Horseshoe (honorable mention to J Holland in Burlington).

Speaking of the Toronto muscle car scene back in the day - I just stumbled onto a Facebook page for Harvey's- Home of The Hot Ones. Some cool pics there from the 70's cruising days.
