Recently had an Edelbrock/Musi 555 EFI engine installed in my 72 SS.
Headers are Stahl #202's with full 3" x pipe exhaust from header collectors to tailpipes through Flowmaster 3 chamber mufflers.
Stewart Stage 2 waterpump,March serpentine pulleys.Large electric fan with shroud.
Turbo 400 transmission with 3000 stall conveter.
H R Parts & Stuff sway bar and upper/lower control arms.
Mosur complete 12 bolt rear end with 3.73 ratio
Strange chrome moly driveshaft with 1350 u joints
A "Dynopak" hub dyno was used for the power testing/tuning check.
Did a premlinary warmup pull 2500 to 3500 rpm's to confirm converter stall and get driveline etc to relative running temperature.
Then did a full(8 second) pull. Results were amazing and very satisfying to say the least.
Over 600 ft lbs of torque from 3000 to 4800 rpms and RW horsepower of 556 at 5200 RPM's.There was more still there.
Power curve was still rising so going up another few hundred RPM's( eg:6000) may have brought HP total to close to the 580 - 600 level? Crazy.
The AFR ratio stayed perfect throughout.
Based on this I decided no further tuning tweaks were required.
I have to say the Edelbrock RPM XT tuning module is relatively easy to learn and when used as per Edelbrock's instructions gets the job done as evidenced here.
The car's driveability is superb and with the power to put a big grin on your face when you get into it.
Real sleeper for sure.Love it.
