I am looking for fact or opinion about he use of the Proform carb main bodies for my holley 750. It will be on a SBC street/strip car. Anything you have to say would be helpful. Thanks in advance!

A lot of people have had bad experiences with them and don't like them, however I like mine a lot. It definetly gave me improved top end, and throttle response, also due to the fact i was undercarbureted, i think it is a very good deal, and worth it. for only 100 dollars you basically get a HP body.

I bought one for a #3310 holley, but never ran it. I decided not too after reading some of the problems others were having tuning them. There was a good link posted detailing the fix (tuning procedure). I think it came from Team Camaro.

I've been using mine about a year now. No problems at all. Bolted right up and just needed to adjust the idle.

I will put in my $.02.

I would say it all depends on what you are installing it on. The air bleeds that come with it is a lean calibration for stock or mild applications with a strong signal, and when you start building outside of those settings things can go out of whack.

I have a warmed over 427 that I use one of these on, and have had trouble getting the air bleed/idle restriction/jetting right with the stock issue metering blocks just to get it back to the original performance of the main body I replaced. I have much time invested in changes that don't really do much for the overall driveability/performance of the main body I took off. You can make it work pretty well, but small changes do effect overall driveability so be carefull if you do mess with the bleeds.

Point is, you may be better off with the original carb the way it was, jet it and leave it.

did some dyno tests and with the proform we picked up 9hp.put in the k&n stub stack with holley 750 (no proform body) gained 7hp vs no stub stack.stub stack allows you to retain your choke. David Vizard also suggests using the stub stack instead of whacking off your chock.just my .02.i don't sell them either, lol.

Thanks for all the help. I just got a carb that comes with the proform body installed. The price is right and hopefully it will work well. If not, I also have the stock 3310 body I can put back on.
