How heavy a car? That seems like an awfull lot of cam for anything with 390s and a 3800 convertor. I have never tried the raised ex port heads in a Chevelle but the 310 would be a great head if you tone down the cam some.

I have a 482 cu in BBC with .722 solid roller and 4200 stall convertor. I have GM 074 casting aluminum heads that have been cnc ported. they are plenty of head without having to go to a raised port. for a street/strip machine I sure wouldn't reccomend the hassle of raised ports. lots of good heads to choose from and you won't notice any difference on the street.
