guys had a real bad thunderstorm a couple days ago and on my 1965 malibu the hood trim is missing and hood insulation well got some water in the carb and removed spark plugs and had some water on the last two plugs close to the firewall, what are the steps to take to get rid of the water in the cylinders and to get the engine running.thanks john.

Tib,
I would pull all of the plugs, spay a good shot of wd40 (or something similar) down each of the cylinders, let it sit a few minutes. Disconnect the ignition, hold the throttle wide open, then turn the engine over with the starter until all (or most) of the water and wd40 is blown out of the cylinders. Put the plugs back in (might want to get new ones) and start it up.

Then invest in an air cleaner or something to keep water out of the carb smile.gif

Drain the oil and change the filter, asap.
