I finally got my engine installed into my car,,,
I had a problem with the motor mounts but that is solved I think. After setting in the engine and aligning everything I find the left side factory exhaust manifold hitting the engine crossmember not enough to keep the motor from going in but it will cause a problem.. I started to loosen the frame mounts to see if I can realign them to get more clearance but time ran out today, since its going to be a couple of days before I get back to it I was wondering if anyone else came across this problem. The car is an orig small block I droppped a 454 in it, I used the original frame mounts and used small block motor mounts,, Any suggestions ??????

the exhaust manifolds you're using, what were they on originally? Do you know? is there a casting number visible?

Tom and I are obviously thinking along the same lines. It is very possible that the ex manifolds that you have are NOT Chevelle manifolds. There were MANY different styles and shapes of BB ex manifolds.

Thanks guys I took a quick look at the manifold Friday, but i was unable to see the numbers I hope to be down there this weekend Does anyone have the correct numbers maybe with a mirror i can get them and if they are wrong I will probably just take them off then
