OK, I have discovered a crack in my heat riser valve that fits inbetween the exhaust manifold and exhaust pipe. If I remove this and leave it off, will my exhaust fit correctly? Or should I get a new one? (and where can I get one?) If I can leave it off, is there a rig that can make up for the additional space. Thanks again!!!

To my knowledge, you need to have it there. The mainfold doesn't have the machining for the donut to fit into it. You might try a real parts store (not Kragan or the like) for one. If they don't have it then wrecking yards are in your future http://www.chevelles.com/forum/frown.gif

Most of the Restoration supply places sell them. I think Ground Up has them. There is also one that looks and fits correctly but doesn't have the plate in it.

You can leave it out if you take a die grinder and form a seat for the donut. However, you will have to make up the missing space with some exhaust work. Did the same to my 66.

The part ya need is a N-660 64+spacer that lists for $26.95 sold by Grounds Up.
