What is the weight difference between a 9.8 deck and a 10.2 deck MK IV engine block?
I'm guessing less than 20 lbs., but I'd like to be sure.
Thanks, all

Thanks, all I'd say maybe 10 lbs actually. I have one, and can't tell a difference between the weight of it and a standard 454 block.

Yeah, that'll make a difference to me. I have no problems with the added height, but weight is another story.

Weight..... like in your car? I don't think I would worry about that. You can stroke these big guys very close to 600 cubic inches. Thats only 5.83 lbs per cubic inch on a 3500 lb car.

Weight, like in my boat. Had to move the engine rearward 3" to install the Turbo 350. Getting to be too much rearward weight bias for proper handling at speed. Too much cavitation plate to keep from porposing. I'm going to band-aid the current engine for another season (HOPEFULLY) but then I want to build a proper engine. Since I'm contemplating a stroked 454, extra deck height would be nice.
