Title says it all. Are you able to buy more lifters and swap them out and leave the old cam in? Only 10k miles....

Over the past 25 year I replaced plenty of lifters, and not replaced the cam. I've never had a problem, even on some of the cars I"ve raced. The question I would have is should you break in the cam with new lifters. I don't know the answer to this. In my old 327 I replaced all the lifters with new anti-pump up. I just started the car and drove it like I always did.
I put another 35K on it, and didn't lose a lobe.
On the other hand, it may not have been a good idea either. Maybe someone can jump in and let us know.

Fred.

Absolutely graemlins/thumbsup.gif
With a roller you can change them, swap them around,,, no real breakin,,,,
just look at the lobes to be sure they are in good condition ;)

I have a question.. What is wrong with your old lifters that you want to change them out?

Depending on how you answer determines whether or not you can simply just change out your lifters and go. If the cam is damaged from one of the old roller lifters, new lifters won't fix that problem.

Thanks Mike, that was the info I was looking for.

go69, They have some hard use on them and from the horror stories about comp lifters I would like peace of mind with a set of isky red zones. Running a 496 down the track is no time to loose a lifter.

Thanks,,,
