Would it be possible to have a thread entitled "Cop Haters"?
That way the rest of us wouldn't have to put up with the gibberish and anti-authority idiocy.

Just a thought.

Im just curious as to why you would want one? Im not asking that because Im working on being a cop but because I think people who bash cops all day deserve what they get from them. Do I think some cops go on power trips when they have a badge? Yeah. But most of them are good cops and are just doing their jobs. So personally if there is one I would just love to go and read what people have to say just so I can sit back and laugh because they did something stupid and get caught.

Randy was being sarcastic and serious at the same time.I started a thread a while back about why there was such a hatred for law enforcement here. I guess growing up and living in Small Town USA,I really don't understand it.

From what I've seen, it's gotten personal between a few people. Law enforcement is a necessary occupation to maintain a civil society.
Some Law enforcement people have NO business in the occupation and should be procecuted for their actions.
For the most part I think they are ok, but you are right, they could hash it out in a seperate thread or just meet and fight it out .

Yessir. Sarcastic and serious. I wore the badge for 20+ years and very proud of it. I sincerely wish you Godspeed in your quest to be an officer. It is truly a honorable profession.
Good luck to you.

I've got a half dozen friends that are life long policemen here. Several I'ver known over 30 years. Two are street rodders, one has a 65 Impala. One guys is retired and now has a take home car and works traffic part time. He pulls into my driveway every morning and afternoon to have a "look see". When I tell them I will be gone, they patrol this neighborhood a little more. Nothing wrong with the cops here. They put on a charity car show every year.

The main reason I disenrolled from 'Current Events' was because of the endless Cop Bashing and anti-authority BS.

I don't have a problem with cops and what they do. There are a few that are a-holes, but for the most part most are pretty cool. I have more of a problem with cops getting preferrential treatment/discounts over military members though. Of course maybe I'm expecting too much since I've been in almost 20yrs??

i'm glad that we have the police around here, they have a very tough job i think.. they set up there speed traps in front of my driveway... its kinda fun watching them take off after speeders... whenever i got a ticket, i had it coming,i was in the wrong,i was more mad at myself then then the police officer... jeff

Thank you. I know you were being sarcastic yet serious at the same time . Ive been around cops all my life and decided on law enforcement as a career after I got hurt playing baseball. Lets face it no one wants a player who has a bad elbow haha. Anyway thank you for your good wishes! And I applaud you for your service!

Gary,

Latrobe? Small town? Ha! Latrobe is a mega-metropolis compared to the town in PA where I grew up. Falls Creek. Population, probably around 200 - 250 on a good day! :D

I get along fine with most cops but hate that they stand so far back during the meet and greet, strains my neck. The women officers always seem distant and act as though they have to be the alpha dog but totally understandable, just a couple observations.
