I'm installing the exhaust manifolds. Any tips for torquing bolts, painting back of gaskets, etc....

Is the motor in the car or out of the car? If its in the car,passenger side will go right in.Drivers side install you'll have to take out the motor mount bolt and jack up the motor to get the manifold in.

Duff,if these are stock cast exh manifolds for bbc they go in with no problem.
I have a 69 chvelle ss 396 i jsu rblt this past winter and as stated above the pass side is cake but on the driver side i had to remove 1 stud (lucky they were new)from the manifold and then it slide right in with no other work at all,it took 15mins to install both.

The body is off the car, so getting to the engine is no problemo.....

Just curious if there is a torque pattern and also if I should put lubricant on the gaskets.
