: Pillar Weatherstrip Channel for 69 Convert??

Anyone know where I can find the stainless weatherstrip channel for a 1969 Chevelle Convertible? This is the channel that the pillar weatherstip installs into on the windshield pillars. I have not been able to find any reproductions available on any of the main sites, SS396, Ecklers, or OPGI?

Any help you could offer, salvage yards to check? Names, phone numbers?

Thank you in advance.

You have a PM, but I was no help with suggestions on where to find these channels, so hopefully someone else will chime in here.

Bill,

Thanks again for the info. If anyone knows of salvage yards that may have these please let me know.

Yu can use one from a coupe. They are the same.

lvdvdr41 are you certain they are the same? I don't mean to question, I just have been burned on this project many times thinking things were the same between the 2 door coupe and the Convertible? If they are indeed the same, that is great, might make it easier to find them. The reason I ask, is I thought on two door coupe it was all one piece from the A pillar across the top of the window and down the B-pillar?

Coupe and convertible are the same and they are one piece in the pillar section. The only thing you have a right and left side.
They do not repop them so you will have to get the stainless from a donor car.
Here is what you are looking for.

I'm positive. I've had both in my hands and they were identical.

I am referring to the fact that a coupe pillar is identical to a convertible pillar.

You don't answer questions about coupe fenders fitting a convertible by specifying that right and left are different, do you?

You should have been a little more clear on your verbiage.
Like: I'm positive. I've had both style coupe and convertible in my hands and they were identical. It just sounded like you had both of what style in your hands?? right/left convertible/coupe??

Well, I found a set off a 2 door coupe and the were 3/4" to long? They measured 19 1/4 long. I was able to measure them on another 69 convert, and they are 18 1/2" long. I was able to find a set from a convert, so problem is solved.

I took a set from a 70 coupe parts car and installed them on a 71 Convertible that I was selling so that I could keep the nicer set. They were the same length with the same mouting holes. Apparently, 69 coupe are different from 70-72 coupe.
