Can any electric pump out there tolerate the occassional whif of air w/o being damaged? I'm surprised really that ANY pump can get damaged this way, but that's what alot of folks say happens.

I think the Carter rotary vane pump would work well. I knew a guy that ran one for 20,000+ miles in his carbed street car. He always ran it low on gas, so I image it sucked air quite a bit. Of course, the carb bowls kept him from ever knowing. Pretty quiet too.

I've seen where guys mount them on the inner fender of a 4x4 above the fuel tank with 12+ feet of suction line and they work fine. The rotary vane design self-primes pretty well.

72 gph will exceed the capacity of the typical 255 lph Warlbro.

I was actually looking at that pump...just wondering about the noise levels and reliability - both of which you just answered. Thanks
