My buddy just picked up a motor from a local mechanic. It's a 327 bored to a 331. 2.02 heads, weiand team g single plane intake, all forged steel internals, holley 750double pumper, roller rockers, stock hei with a pertronix performance kit and a hei ignition recurve kit. 12.5:1 Compression. I'm not sure on the cam specs, I know its not a roller though. It has a very lopey idle. Anyway my question is, how much hp and torque would you guess this engine has if you can guess with the information I've given you. The car has a 3000 stall and 4.11 posi rearend, The car came with mickey thompson ET street slicks 10.5 inches wide and the car will bust those loose pretty dang easy. I'm guessing probably 400-450 at the crank. Any guesses would be appreciated. Thanks alot guys.

Without the cam specs..forget it.
12.5 to 1 compression is pretty bold too..what size dome and what is the combustion chamber size?

..and my friends little Ford 302 that made 210 HP at the rear wheels busts the tires loose pretty easily too.

Bottom line,need more info.

Your friends little 302 doesnt bust loose 10.5 inch drag slicks. I'm not sure on any of the specs you asked about. I was just wondering if anybody here could guess, maybe a ballpark. Thanks anyway.

It's in an 84 Monte Carlo. Thanks for the replies. If I can find out the cam specs I will post them. The heads are just old Iron 2.02's. I dont know any specs on them. Guy who built it said with his aluminum race heads and a roller cam it made a little over 500hp he doesnt know how much it makes now since its been kinda detuned. He cant remember the specs on the cam either and is currently looking for the specs. Thanks again.

The cam specs will help big time.

The difference from aluminum race heads to plain 'ol 2.02's can easily be more than 100 hp. A good sized solid roller would only increase the hp difference.

Just take it to the track, your mph will indicate how much hp is being made.

Cutty that is not the kind of attitude this board tries to foster. You might not be new to the hobby, but the board tries foster respect for everyone, whether they are right or wrong. Someone was trying offer a better ballpark, no need to turn things around like that.
So welcome aboard we are glad you are here, but don't bite the hand that feeds you..
