: PCV valve connection

I did checked in archive questions but didn't find a total answer.
I bought the car with the current setup.
71 small block, 4 spd, performer manifold, Holley carb. Power brake booster connected to the base of carb in rear. The PCV valve has a T connector, one side blocked the other goes to the gas recircluation cannister. There is no line from the PCV valve to the carb or manifold. There is a plugged connection on the center rear of the manifold right by the booster connection on the carb. I don't see any other vacuum connection on front of the carb that I could use. Question is can I use the available manifold connection for the PCV valve?

Thanks,

On my 68 I have the power brakes hooked to that manifold tap. The PCV is hooked to the base of the carb. I don't know if this is the correct way, but it seems to work just fine for me. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif

That's the way mine is too.

I've even seen carbs advertised as having PCV ports on the base. That is what the BIG port is on the base for. My original stock engine had the power brakes ported directly to the manifold and the PCV to the carb.
There isn't near enough vacuum at the charcoal canister to do the PCV valve any good.

That plugged port on your manifold should be where the brakes go to.
