Does anyone know if you can use any GM HEI dist. with a GM roller cam? Some say yes, others say that you must run a melonized(sp) gear.

According to GM Performance Parts, you must use the melonized cam drive gear P/N 10456413 for all steel roller camshafts.

So if you were using a hydraulic cam and swithched to a steel roller cam, you could use your old HEI dizzy, but you would need to switch the cam drive gear to the melonized gear listed above.
