Have a 1970 Chevelle SS454 (LS5) with block stamp CE261682 or could be CE261692. Also stamped D1272. Since it is now a 1972 warranty block, would the horsepower be the same as the 1970 360 hp block? The original motor was an LS5. How do I determine if the CE replacement block is still an LS5 360 hp? Thanks in advance for your help.

no way that I know of without either a dyno run or disassembly to check what parts are installed. A simple compression check may or may not give a clue depending on cam timing.

Honestly, without tearing into it,and knowing what pistons, cams, head casting #'s,etc. its all just speculation.
