A Sedan, Hardtop, Post, Pillar, etc all refer to a car which doesn't have flow-through side windows. Meaning, if you open the door, and roll down the window, there will be a frame for the window still there.

A Sport Coupe doesn't have the frame. The door, with the window down, will not have the frame. it'll look like that of a convertible.

Hope this makes sense.

A Sedan can refer to either a 2 door or a 4 door with window frames.

A pillar coupe is a sedan 2 door with window frames.

A hardtop is either a 2 door or 4 door without window frames.

A sport coupe usually refers to the 2 door hardtop but can refer to a pillar coupe.

Hey let's not forget SPORT SEDANS! If you've ever seen a Chevelle Sport Sedan, it's quite interesting. Four doors, but no posts! Glass all the way. Only thing that separates the front and rear door windows is the thin chrome/weatherstrip piece.

As "cool looking" as a 4 door can get. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif
