was the L34 engine (350hp) available in the '69 sd beaumont or just the L35 (325hp)?

I noticed the 69 beaumont uses the 68 chevelle type quarters where they're tapered forward at the bumper, interesting.

If you think the Chevelle Z16 is rare, 1969 Beaumont SD396 production was only 48 L35 (325 h.p.) and 43 L34 (350 h.p.). Super rare!

The L34 Beaumonts included the N08 Chambered Exhaust at the same time the U.S. SS396 included it on the L34 & L78.

Too bad they never made a 69 SD convertible of a L-78 Beaumont. I always thougt 43 was the total production number for the 69 SD. I had never seen the 48 L35 and 43 L34 numbers. Thanks for posting that.

It sure does look like that oin the picture, but mine has what seem to be 69 quarters with no taper..just like a 69 Chevelle

Advertising and sales brochure photography was (and still is) shot many months in advance of the start of production so that printed materials would be ready when the cars hit the showroom floor.

Often, what the marketing or design departments planned and what finally went into production often varied slightly from when prototype models were photographed and the first cars rolled off the assembly line.

That could easily be the case with the subject photograph discussed here.

i had a friend who won a '69 sd 396 L35 with th400. car was forest green + green bucket seat interior, 2dr ht. i believe that he wrecked the car a year or so later.

What Rich said, don't use brochures as references. The pictures often got doctored. When the '69 Camaros went from the 327 to the 307 as the base engine, the brochure picture was doctored to replace the 327 emblem with the 307 one.
