I have a 1969 Chevelle with a 402 (real POS) and can't figure out what is wrong with  It starts but pops everytime I give it gas. graemlins/clonk.gif Think it is gas or maybe of plugs fouled? I am going out of my mind on this thing. I have had my fair share of car problems over the years but this is killing me. Any help would be great. Thanks! graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Lets start over without all the profanity

Besides what everyone else said...

..try a fresh set of plugs, and check your timing.
Good luck

Could it be the Quadra-bog carb?

along the lines of timing, make sure the firing order is correct and wired accordingly.

you could check to see if you have a good fire in each whole before you replace the plugs with a squirt bottle of water...... start the engine and spray each header tube on its own and just start checking which ones are firing and if any water is just laying on the header....

Was it running fine one day and then like garbage the next? Or has it never run? Of course based on your sig you might just want to sell it or give it away if its that bad so feel free to send it my way.

After timing, and plugs, and firing order, and if its a different(or new) carb, look at the secondaries opening too soon. I had a Demon that the vacuum secondaries would open as I pedaled it. The link rod, that closes the secondaries, was actually hanging up, and opening the secondaries for a split second, then letting it go. In the mean time, it would lean pop under acceleration.
