: CUTTING LOWER CONTROL ARM FRAME MOUNTS ??

Well I had to cut and re-shape and re-weld my two rear lower control arm mounts to gain the clearence I needed to install the new Hooker Headers part #2455-1. Hooker could have bent the two tubes up differently and I would not have had to do this!! My point being; they have plenty of room to bend these tubes a little tighter and would not have clearence problems !!! Anybody else have to perform this modification ?? I dont think I will have any issues with strenght integrity I hope !! Was able to gain about 1/4" to 3/8" of an inch of clearence on both sides I hope this will be adiquate, brand new motor mounts.

I had to do it on my 64 I have been driving it hard and checking everything often no problems here. I used hedman headers p/n 65002
