JD,
New or used ?? New...I would say around $600 Used...not a penny unless you can get it magnafluxed first. If it is good, but needs grinding...I would say $150. I sold one that had been reground a few months ago for $375

I bought a 6223 for $300. The machinist told me it was a better crank than those available through www.competitionproducts.com (http://www.competitionproducts.com) for $250 NEW. But still. That sets the floor on 3.76" cranks.

I used to work at Advanced Heat Treat, and they treat a lot of cranks for Lunati, stuff for Spicer, etc...

Point is, if it needs to be ground, be aware that with that with this type of steel, or just the nitriding process in general, you only get a case depth of maybe 10 to 30 thou. so I guess I'd be hard pressed to say it was nitrided after grinding.

By the way, nitriding is accomplished by placing in a special vaccuum furnace, purging with a mixture of nitrogen, and hydrogen, then applying a voltage to create that neon light glow, which creates heat. Metals like that run at about 975 deg. F. for anywhere from 12 to 24 hrs. depending on the specs needed.
