hello, i hope everyone had a safe holiday. Please read these plugs to me. They look very rich to me. The car is a 1972 454 with holley street avenger 770 vac secandaries the timing is about 13 i belive. The carb is brand new only has about an hour use on it. We using the HEI ignition and its putting out close to 13 volts. When you step on it the car feels like it bogs a little. Doesnt seem like a 454 to me. Would a hotter plug help?? or is it the idle screws?? i have no idea

It also feels like its runnning on 7 cylinders you konw that feeling. I belive one of the plugs isint doing anything now because its too fowled

Since I can't see the electrode I would assume it is very rich. Does the soot wipe right off on your finger?

Tomb7us;

The pics aren't real clear, but it does look very rich from what I can see. Did you set the float levels on the carb? Did you adjust the mixture screws? What about adjusting the choke?

Don't run the car anymore than necessary until you figure out what's wrong, as running that rich will quickly wash the rings out of the engine.

If you need any help tuning, feel free to email me(email is on my profile).

Eric
