My 1968 Chevelle convertible top bushing broke. It is one of the white plastic or nylon bushings that are used where the metal pieces meet. This bushing goes in the joints right above the quarter windows. you can purchase the bushings separately and they are only $1.50 each. I looked at several different bushings from different chevelle parts suppliers they were all the same size regardless of the shop(original part group, year one , car and truck shop in orange,ca) all seemed to be slightly to big to fit into the hole in the metal so it required me to use a dremel to shave a little bit off of the diameter of the bushing in order to get them to fit into the top frame. I purchased the bushings separately because this was all I needed for $1.50 a piece from a place called Hydro-E-Lectric 941-639- 0437 www.hydroe.com email is hydroel@aol.com their address is 5530 Independence Court Punta Gorda, FL 33982. The item ID/Desc is HYDBUSHING.
I hope this helps people looking for the bushings and don’t want to be forced to buy the whole kit that is like $70 or $80. I know some people modify closet parts from home depot to get a bushing but this place has them for $1.50 a piece. any questions email me at ford289ci@aol.com
