Gentlemen: I have a recently acquired 69 Chevelle with a 250 cu. in. six. The more I drive it, the better it runs. However, I have recently experience a nasty bog or hesistation or stall out problem. Once in 25 miles it will have this major stall out, like it hit a brick wall for 1/2 a second ( sorry for the exaggeration, but it's not subtle ) and usually the car drives right through it. In the past 3 days, however, the car has actually stalled out while driving at low speed. The good news is that I can restart it, with difficulty. I am aware of the concept that gas, air and electricity being present, an engine should run. I am not sure where to start. A couple of knowledgeable people have said ( sight unseen ) do a carb rebuild, the problem is probably an accelerator pump. In your opinion, what is my best way to proceed to correct this unacceptable problem. I am grateful for any and all advice. Thanks in advance. R.B.
