Hi guys,I'm kinda looking at a canadian built chevelle and was wondering if they are worth more or less than U.S. built chevelles? Also what are the main diffrence in the two? It's a 69 Thanks for your help Bob

Just to clarify, there is a difference between a Canadian built Chevelle and the Beaumont. The Canadian built Chevelles are just, well Chevelles, the Beaumont has the different trim, interior etc.

The biggest advantage to having a Canadian built and or sold Chevelle is the fact that you can get the GM of Canada information on your car. You aren't buying a maybe. You know exactly what you are getting. On our base el Camino it really didn't ad any value. For our L78 car it could mean a few thousand dollars and/or a much quicker sale. Me, I like the history no matter what the car is. It's just neat stuff to have.

Congrats on the car. The phone # for GM Canada is 1-905-440-7636 if you can't find the build sheet.

Canada-built Chevelles didn't have a conventional build sheet to find. What many have found is what's called a "line tag" like this:

http://chevellestuff.net/1970/bs/os/line_tag_os01.jpg

The trim tag will often list the major RPO items on it like the example found on my page at http://chevellestuff.net/1969/chevelle/tags/69-os.htm.

Congrats on your Malibu convertible, convertibles are always nice.

TR 764 is Metallic Dark Blue Coated Fabric bench seat and 711 is LeMans Blue with a white convertible top. Should read 711A I think.

C50 - rear window defroster
C60 - A/C
M35 - Powerglide

I don't have a photo of a LeMans Blue with a white convertible top but here's a sport coupe with a white vinyl top. Very popular color in 1969.

one of the reasons i bought this car was tha i wanted to do a chevelle in the same color combo as my new 69 chevelle L78 car was back in the day.mine was a coupe but i just sold a 72 convertible and realy wanted another rag top.my old combo was Azure turquoise with a parchment gut.If i decide to paint this one the original LeMans blue will be just fine Bob
