I used an install tool from eastwood and one of the adapters almost broke when I was installing my balancer.I backed it out and the 7/16" adapter has cracks on it(thank god it didn't bust ! ).I want to move ahead and not wait the two weeks it takes for Eastwood to replace it so is there a way to tell if it's all the way on ? Measurement ?

The balancer bottoms out on the timing chain crank sprocket. When you torque down your balancer bolt/washer it will snug it up if it's not already.

i had the same problem when i change to a different size balancer. i used a measuring caliper on the end that extends when the caliper opens and inserted this end into the front cover until it made contact. then compaired the caliper jaw end with the balancer shaft to find the distance the balancer should bottom out at. hope this make sense
