Ever since I put the 454 into my 65 chevelle, the gas pedal has been laying right down on the floor. I have the throttle rod extended all the way out to try and raise the pedal off the floor a bit, but it is still pretty much right on the floor. I was browsing on Year One's site, and saw that they offer both small block and big block throttle rods. Does anyone know if the big block throttle rod is longer than the small block rod?
Any other tips to raise it up?
thanks

Joe, ASSUMING its the same as on the 67, a SHORTER throttle rod will raise the pedal. Example, if the grab the throttle arm in the engine bay, and pull it forward, it will raise the pedal. Shorten it, you are likely NOT getting WOT either.
And those steel pedals, they can snap, I've come to find out!

Gene, you are totally correct. The last time I looked at it was last fall, and now that you mentioned it, a shorter rod will bring it up. Maybe I can just extend the threads on the rod? Does anyone know what die I should use to tap more threads on the rod?

They're defintely fine thread, but the rod on my car is likely not orignal. Either 1/4X28 or 10-32 I cant remember. Anyway, cutting more threads on there is what I had to do, as well as lop a inch or so off the end. I just used two nuts and a hacksaw there. It must've been 1/4X28, but again, doubt its an original piece.
