Hey Guys (and Gals),
I need some help with a puzzle. I am putting my engine back together. It is a small block 400. I have installed an Edlebrock Performer Air Gap and a Weiend (sp?)long style water pump. Here is my problem. I went to put the alternator back on and the upper bracket doesn't seem to fit.The lower bracket fits fine. I know the brackets came off the engine and used to fit fine. The old pump was a long style factory pump, and the old manifold was an Eldlebrock Performer RPM. I have measured all the hole locations and the new stuff looks the same as the old stuff, and I am at a loss as why the bracket won't line up. If nobody has any ideas, I am going to reinstall the old pump and manifold to check how it used to fit and go from there, but I would rather not do that if possible.
Any ideas? Mabybe a picture of how it all fits if someone out there has run into this before?
Thanks for the help.
