I am wondering who makes a good aftermarket T-stat. I don't want this happening to my 65.
This stat came out of my Toyota 4x4. I believe its a Robertshaw.
Well I can't link the photo but you can find it here

You can get Stewart t-stats from Speedway for about $10. These are high flow 180 degree units.

I think Stewart uses a Robertshaw stat.

It's a Robertshaw modified by Stewart.

What's wrong with a "Stant" if that is still the name??

PS., just drill a couple of 1/8" holes around it's flange inward so that it will help your motor burp air out of it while pouring in the coolant!! Nothing I like less then waiting for the T-Stat to open up and finally burp down so I can fill her full....
my Robert Shaw/Stewart T-stat stuck closed the second time I drove my car.... :(

Dave,
I dont think you can go wrong with OEM parts. If it is for your Toyota truck, get one from the dealer. I bet you will find that the price is very close to the aftermarket.
Keep your GM car all GM .... Same with the Toy
Just my opinion,
Good advice Bill. Toys run good and long on Toy parts. Sometimes expensive, but guaranteed to work.

I've run a modified Robert Shaw for a couple years now without a problem.
