Guys,

I'm a little confused here. I was running FR3LS AC Delco plugs. Wanted to try Champions.

The FR3LS cross references to a Champion RC12YC in the Champion spark plug catalog.

Trick flow recommends the FR3LS in the AC-Delco and the Champion RC9YC. According to the Champion cross reference chart, the RC9YC is about 3 heat ranges cooler than the AC Delco FR3LS!

Should I go with the Champion cross reference and run the RC12YC, or go with the Trick Flow recommended RC9YC?

This is going into a Trick Flow equipped 327. What Champions are you guys running with Trick Flow heads?

Mike

Mike, FR3LS cannot be found in my area anymore, so I have been using NGK's # FR5. Been working real good. Dave

Thanks Dave!

Going with the RC9YC. Figure the worst that could happen is they foul and I have to change them sooner. Better than starting out too hot.

i noticed that the FR5's didnt foul as easily as the champions, and the motor immediately ran better when the NGKs went in. Granted, this was during break-in so carb tuning was constantly changing with both plugs so im sure that had alot to do with it, but my combo seems to like the NGKs better...hope i helped a little anyway http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif

Almost ashamed to admit it but, since the store was out of AC's I went to NGK's. Car never ran so good. Starts easier, idles smoother, no midrange lag. I'm sold, NGK's from now on. I've always been one of those, AC's in a GM, Autolite in a Ford, Champion in a Chrysler kinda guys, not anymore. Oh, and they were half the price.... go figure http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif
